The movie producers have wowed us with their creativity and imagination for years. The viewing public has craved the new and demanded that the movies they watch take them to new levels of thrills and the unimaginable. This is the exact reason why animation in movies is so important.
In the early days animation was sketchy at best. The most we could have hoped for was less than realistic images of giant lizards and insects that terrorized the country side. A new web2 site called aniBOOM is up on the net. aniBOOM is a unique user generated video site dedicated to animation content. The site is a platform for animators to present their work to the mass audience, and to producers & distributors in the animation field.
The site's first event is an online animation festival with $50000 worth of prizes. More than 1,500 movies, from all over the globe, have already been submitted.
The semi-finals, announcing the 25 final competitors, will take place on January 15, 2007. Two weeks after that, the grand prize winner of $25,000 and five other winners of $5,000 each, will be announced on January 30, 2007.

They always say things were better back when I was a kid. That may be true about some things, but not when it comes to animated films. Before you get all bent out of shape, I love the old animated movies. Bambi and Dumbo are two of my favorites. And even though I do not have children there are a lot of animated films in my DVD collection.
The animated films of today are pleasing to both adults and children. I remember my husband saying you have to watch this movie called Shriek. I told him I was to busy to sit down and watch a kids film. I am glad I did. It was funny and amusing and I thought the second movie was just as clever.
